Special Details About This Meeting/Audience:

Nerd Nite is coming to Memphis beginning in January, and interested speakers are encouraged to apply now to secure your spot in the monthly series.

Nerd Nite is an informal gathering at which nerds get together for nerdery of all sorts (mostly presentations and drinking). Nerds and non-nerds alike gather to meet, drink and learn something new. Each evening, three nerds will give short, fun presentations where they can nerd out about secrets hidden in art, video games, string theory, Aztec mythology, or something equally random and interesting.

Born in Boston and fostered in New York, Nerd Nite has spread to Austin, TX and Munich, Germany, and now Memphis.

Nerd Nite Memphis will be the last Wednesday of each month from 7-9 pm at Rec Room. The speaker series is meant to feel a little bit like a Ted Talk, but less formal. Speakers will give a 18-21 minute presentation about a topic they are passionate about and think others would be interested in. There are no special degrees, areas of interest, or experience required.
